Your child’s health is a matter of great importance to all of us. To protect your child, we ask that you adhere to each of the following:
- Each child, upon enrollment at Noah’s Ark, will need a certificate of immunization to be completed by the parent and a copy of the current shot record attached. All children must be current on their shots prior to admission to the Ark.
- Each child attending Noah’s Ark MUST have a physical on record completed by a doctor or the health department. This MUST be submitted within 30 days of enrollment.
- Any allergies (food, medicine, stings, etc.) MUST be noted on the health form and called to the attention of the Administrative Staff. Food Allergies Awareness
- If your child has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, diarrhea, or vomiting, please do not send them to the center. If they have a rash, we must be reassured that it is not contagious. If your child shows signs of any of the above, we will call you to pick up your child as soon as possible.
- Your child should be kept home if he/she does have communicable disease (sore throat, fever, red eyes with excess matter, unexplained rashes, etc.) If your child awakes with a fever, sore throat, etc., please do not medicate them and bring them to school. Please keep them home until they are feeling well. Please notify the center at once if your child does not have a communicable disease.
- If your child becomes ill during the day, the child will be separated from the children and the parent will be contacted. Sick children need to be picked up as soon as possible and must remain away from the center for 24 hours after their symptoms subside without medication.
- If you wish your child to have medication during the day, you will need to record all necessary information on the Medication Authorization Form. Noah’s Ark will administer “over the counter” medication only with a note from the child’s pediatrician. No medication can be administered without the written permission of the child’s doctor. Medicine is given at 12 noon and 4pm and the time is circled when the medicine is given. Medicine is only dispensed to children whose name and all necessary information are on the Medication Form. We do not dispense medicine that is not in the original container with the child’s name on it. We do not dispense vitamins or apply lip balm.
- Children are encouraged to participate in outdoor play as a regular part of the everyday program. Fresh air is good for the child who is well enough to return to group activity. If your child needs to stay inside, he/she needs to remain at home.
- In case of serious accidental injury, we will make an immediate attempt to contact a parent or emergency contact. If necessary, we will also call an ambulance and/or paramedics.
- Noah’s Ark will has adopted a “No nut policy”. This is for the safety of the many children who come into the center with mild to life threatening peanut allergies. Please do not send nuts of any kind in snacks, lunches, birthday treats, back packs, pockets etc. Even if we keep the children separate there is the danger of cross-contamination. Please check ingredients on all birthday treats before bringing them to the Ark. We will be checking foods coming into the center on a daily basis. Please help us make Noah’s Ark safe for all children by helping us with this new “no nut policy”.
PLEASE keep the school up to date on telephone numbers, emergency numbers, and any other pertinent information.
